To use this valuable list:
- Look for overseas firms seeking any one or more of the products listed here.
- Contact one or more firms in this list by mail, phone, fax, or e”mail.
- Tell the firm that you have an overseas firm interested in buying their products. Ask for a price quote for the number of units sought by the overseas firms.
- Send your price quotation, with 10% added for your commission, to you overseas customer. Ask for a firm order for the items you’re exporting.
- Use the order you obtain to get bank financing to buy the products wanted by your overseas customer. Ideally, your overseas buyer will send a Letter of Credit (L/C) to your bank to cover the Purchase Order, plus your commission. Ask for an L/C if the client doesn’t bring it up.
- Arrange with a Freight Forwarder for shipment of your order to your overseas customer. Collect your fee.
- Go on to your next export sale using the information in this book.
